Ladybug and Chat Noir come to help if there's an emergency. I haven't seen them otherwise. I guess it's hard to ignore and not hear if there's an akuma attacking though. Why? I'm sure they already know you're grateful if you wanted to thank them. They save people all the time. They know we appreciate what they do here in Paris.
